PEDESTRIANS

There are no pedestrains in Pasadena. There are no public trash cans or telephones, either. Actually, there are pedestrians in Pasadena, but there's something wrong with them, each one. They are freaks, derelicts, and institutional escapees, and I make a sport of identifying each sighting. There's something very different, somehow, between people in Pasadena who are walking from their car to a store and those who are walking a good distance. The first seem normal, unremarkable; the second seem out of place. To quote the mid-80s pop band Missing Persons: "Nobody walks in LA."
