Professor Winston of the MIT Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department has a wonderful lecture he presents yearly on how to give lectures. He hands out a set of notes along with this lecture which every academician interested in improving their lecturing style should read, from graduate students about to give oral examinations, to professors who lecture regularly, to those who give conference presentations. I have given a similar talk based on his work from time to time, and with his permission retypeset his notes. Below are links to my slides and to his paper.
